It all began back in 1980...
The Corte Sconta restaurant was born out of two friends’ dissatisfaction with their previous jobs and their desire to embark on a new venture: opening an osteria. Opened on 1 March 1980, the restaurant was chosen for its beautiful courtyard, which features a centenary vine dating back to 1883 that provides shade and grapes in the summer. The restaurant offers contemporary cuisine that never fails to satisfy regular customers while maintaining the tradition of Venetian cuisine.
Over the last twenty years, the wine list has expanded to include wines from other European countries, particularly France, Germany, Austria and Greece. The restaurant also takes an ethical approach to viticulture and food, avoiding purchasing raw materials from large distributors.
Over the past twenty years, Corte Sconta has hosted many actors, artists, directors and writers, many of whom have become friends. To name a few: Sydney Lumet, Mel Brooks, Mick Jagger and Lou Reed, to name a few.
